The present work seeks to delineate a contemporaneity’s normative grammar, through the consumption and commercialization of life forms, guided by the work of the philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky. In this context, seeking an interlocution with the pandemic, a possible definition of the phenomenon “Fear of Going Out” is proposed in structural axes, while, based on a relationship of figure and background, circumscribing borderline situations of impasse of this normative grammar. The intention is not only to extrapolate the idea of purely psychological suffering, but rather to denote the impasses of a model of freedom as self-belonging. Finally, an alternative model of freedom is proposed as a response.
